A Bucket of Love

My Childhood.....

I have so many great memories of my childhood and I thought that I needed to blog and share some of the crazy things that my Mom and Aunt did raising us to keep the insanity in the house. When we get together as a family or when I just talk about my childhood most people end up laughing. I hope that you enjoy my childhood as much as I did. Before I had kids I didn't understand my Moms and Aunt's methods to their madness but now that I'm a Mother I understand all to well. Well most of the stuff.....

Let's Start with 7 eleven BIG GULP!

To most people they think a refreshing drink on a hot day.  But, when i see that cup I think "Community Cup" and you say "WHAT".....Yes Community Cup. My Mom had 4 children and my Aunt had 2 and as if between the two of them that wasn't enough kids they would babysit other kids. So, let's just say there was a lot of us ALWAYS!  Come lunch time we would happily eat our PB & J sandwiches. ( 1 loaf a day) now wonder why they had to babysit! Along with our sandwiches we got one big gulp cup with Kool Aid or Tea! "Yes I said "ONE" cup! We had to share!!! "Community Cup!!!" If I could paint a visial imagine 6 kids or more thirsty passing a cup around saying don't drink it all. Let's just say I always wanted to be the first to drink!!! And it wasn't to not drink floaties it was just to get a Gulp in!!!

Now, That I'm a mom I understand the method of madness but that's one principal I don't implement. Although I will admit between my two girls I have given them one glass when it's been a long day of I'm thirsty and the cups are all waiting in the sink to be washed.

What happened if you didn't get a Gulp in......?
Once the Big Gulp was gone!!! It was "there's the water hose!!!" You might think OMG! These moms were crazy. Well, I'm sure at time they were. Could you imagine they would be making Kool Aid all day if they just refilled! Some times I have a alot of kids at my house and I mean  a lot. I'm thristy is a chanellenge so The Famous Words of "THERE'S THE WATER HOSE"  is used.
